Dad invites the family aboard a pretend goodnight train.

“All aboard the Goodnight Train!” called Dad. The children followed him across the rug. First, the book station. Next, the blanket station. Last, a cosy story stop. Snoozo made a very gentle choo-choo.

Talk together: Make a gentle “Choo-choo.” Show first, next and last with three fingers.

Snoozo chooses a book, but Zippy cannot find her little soft toy.

At the book station, Snoozo chose a favourite. Zippy looked at her empty paws. “My star toy!” Dad waited. Snoozo wanted to get cosy, but his little sister did not look ready to leave.

Talk together: What does Zippy need before the next stop? How can the train help?

Snoozo pauses the train to help Zippy find her toy star.

“One helping stop,” said Snoozo. He spotted a soft star beside the sofa cushion. Zippy picked it up and hugged it. “Thank you!” Their train had not travelled far, but one passenger felt much better.

Talk together: Point to the star toy. Name the small thing Snoozo did that made a difference.
