Snoozo and Zippy sit on a soft rug and build a colourful wooden block tower together.

On the treehouse rug, Snoozo and Zippy built a tower. One block. Two blocks. A wobbly third! “A house for my moon cushion,” said Snoozo. Zippy held up a yellow block. “A door!” she said.

Talk together: Point to Snoozo’s hands and Zippy’s hands. Hold your palms open. Say “Gentle hands.”

The tower has fallen. Snoozo keeps his upset paws beside his own body while Mum Fern kneels nearby.

Bump! The tower fell. Snoozo felt hot and cross. His hands squeezed close to his body. Mum Fern knelt nearby. “You are cross. I am here. No hitting. I will help keep everyone safe.” Snoozo kept his hands close to himself.

Talk together: How does Snoozo feel? Grown-up: model “I feel cross. Please help.”

Mum Fern shows open, gentle paws while Snoozo asks Zippy for a turn with the blocks.

Mum opened her palms. Snoozo opened his too. “These hands can ask,” she said. “Can I have a turn?” Snoozo asked Zippy. “After my door,” she said. Waiting felt hard. “Please stay with me, Mum.” “Of course.”

Talk together: Show an open palm and try “Can I have a turn?” Then say “Please stay with me.”
